General Questions

Durell Software is a hard-working, dedicated team of technical specialists and we pride ourselves on our customer service. When you sign up you will have exclusive support from our Client Care team until you are comfortable using the system.

There are a number of steps we have taken to ensure complete security in our system, including:

Every change we make in the system is tested, tracked and signed off in a test environment before it reaches your live stream.

We also offer bulk testing tools to test any size of rating guide, from simple structures to the largest multi-factor component-driven rules.

When you sign up you will have exclusive support from our Client Care team until you are comfortable using the system, within-depth training available at any point.

Durell Software

  • From the front screen of Durell, click on Setup and then Products from the list.
  • Click on the New button, select All fields and then click OK.
  • In the new window
    • select the Type of insurance
    • select the type of Product
    • find the insurer from the list of Companies, General Insurance
    • type in the name of your new policy into Plan name
  • Give the policy a code, by clicking the = icon next to the yellow box and then click Save.

Your new policy will now be ready to use.

  • From the Durell front screen, click on People, which will take you to the Individual Clients or Business Clients address sets
  • You will likely see an existing client record. To create a brand-new record, click on the Snowflake button.
  • You will be presented with a window to input the new client’s details. Key in as much as possible and then click “OK”

    • select the Type of insurance
    • select the type of Product
    • find the insurer from the list of Companies, General Insurance
    • type in the name of your new policy into Plan name
  • Give the policy a code, by clicking the = icon next to the yellow box and then click Save.

Your new policy will now be ready to use.

  • From the Durell home screen locate the client you wish to create a new policy for.
  • Once on the clients record, click the Policies button. 
  • If there are no existing Policies or Quotes, select Policy in the pop-up. If there are - click the Snowflake button and select Policy.
    • Use dropdowns to select policy Type, Product, Insurer and Plan Name
    • Next, fill in all the required information. Clicking the right arrow will take you to the next page, the left arrow will take you back.
    • Once you reach the Premium screen you can enter key financial information, before clicking the right arrow to begin posting figures to accounts.
    • Click the right arrow on the Payaway screen
  • We recommend clicking preview in the final pop-up to view the accounts before posting.

Once done your new policy will be created.

  • From the Durell Home Screen, locate the client you wish to create a new quote for.
  • Once on the client's main page, click the Policies button.
    • If there are no existing Quotes or Policies, select New Quote in the pop-up.
    • If there are - click the Snowflake button and select the type of Quote required.
    • Next, select product and product type.

Your new quote will now be created.

From the Durell Home Screen locate the client you wish to create a renewal for.

  • Once highlighted, click on the Snowflake button, a pop-up box will open where you can choose to create a new Renewal for current policy
    • This takes you into the Renewal which is similar o the policy screen
    • You can progress through the screens making any changes to risk information as required
    • Once you land on the Payaways screen you must save the renewal by clicking on the floppy disk button
    • When you are ready to take up the renewal find it in the Main Policy List  and highlight it
    • Click on the signpost button, scroll across on General, again on Renewals and then click Take-up
    • On the window that pops up check the details are correct and click OK to continue and OK again

You will now be taken back to the premium screen of the renewal

  • Click right arrow to move onto the payaway screen and again to progress past it
  • This will post the renewal to the accounts

We recommend previewing the account entry you are about to post to check all the details are correct.

Filters can be used to easily view any policies with similarities make them easily accessible on screen.

To create filters:

  • Click on the Filter icon in the right hand corner of the Admin Dashboard - this will open a side menu
  • You can change the date range b
  • Click the drop downs buttons for each of the options, such as  Events, Tags and Enrichment
  • Each drop-down will display all the options available as buttons which you can click on to select
  • Once you have your selections click Apply

You can save the filter by clicking the Save icon (Note, if you do not save your filter before closing a page you will lose it)

Yes we do, your clients can have the ability to select in which currency the premium will appear. There's no limit to how many currencies you want to provide.

Absolutely. Hosted on Amazon Web Services we can scale up capacity at the click of a button.

You will have access to all existing Schemes Platform components and integrations while the product itself remains your intellectual property.
