About Durell Software Limited
The guiding principle at Durell is to collaborate closely with our customers to produce software that is the best fit for the industry, and the ethos of our system being ‘The Complete Solution’ is central to the company philosophy. We continue to cater equally for both General Insurance Brokers and Financial Intermediaries, providing a comprehensive and flexible software solution. Client and policy management is integrated with a full accounts package, document viewer and office management tools and our new Client Facing Services web portal creates a seamless link from the web to the back office system.
Durell is based in Taunton, Somerset and is a close-knit and committed team. We strongly believe the key to Durell’s ongoing success lies in what has always set us apart – genuine client care is rare these days and it is ingrained in Durell. From software design to ongoing support and advice, we’re proud to know that the service we provide is second to none.
Tom joined Durell in 2014, moving back to the West Country after 10 years working in finance in London. Tom has been heavily involved in various IT projects throughout his career and firmly believes good IT enables business.
Founder & Technical Director
The first version of Durell’s back-office software was largely written by company founder Robert White. It was published for the MS-DOS operating system in 1990 and designed as a comprehensive office solution for combined insurance brokers (i.e. Life and General in one system).
Head of Operations
Jane has been a calm, organising influence at Durell since 2001. Working across a variety of roles at Durell, including stints in Sales and Support, Jane is now Head of Operations and is the glue that holds everything together.
Head of Customer Relations
Iain has been with the company since the early days and has been instrumental in creating Durell’s focus on client care. Having spent most of his career at Durell running the Sales team, Iain is now shaping the future of Durell as Head of Customer Relations.
Head of Sales
Arron joined us in April 2017. When he told us he believed the key to Sales was customer retention through great service we knew he'd be a good fit. Arron's enthusiasm and proven track record over 10 years in the industry will be a huge benefit to us and our customers.
Head of Support
Simon has been with Durell since the summer of 2006, working his way up from intern to running our dedicated and friendly Support team. Simon specializes in the infrastructure side and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator.
Head of Programming
Martin was responsible for the first Windows version of Durell and now guides the development team. Having both Martin and Robert involved is a huge benefit to the company – they’ve both been there and done it, bringing priceless experience to the development team.
