Set-up, Maintain Database
Your
Durell databases naturally expand with use, though as time goes by much of this
inflated size becomes unnecessary. Running the “Set-up Maintain Database”
option allows you to compact the databases again, which may have the added
benefit of making the system slightly faster. The main database for clients and
policies in Durell is the one called “Imw-Data.Mdb”. You can use the drop-down
to select any of the other databases, such as the main one for the accounts,
called “Accounts.Mdb”.
You won’t be able to use this option until all other
users of Durell have exited from the system. If in doubt, click the “Info”
button to check for any active users.

You
are strongly recommended to set-up a schedule to automatically maintain your databases
every night (see “Backup, Compact and
Copy”).
