Scanning, Set-up Irfanview for Viewing Documents

The standard or “default” settings for Irfanview work perfectly well, but can be improved. First load Irfanview, then…

· Click “View” on the file menu

· If you see a menu line “Display options” then click it

· Click and thereby tick the menu line “Fit images to desktop”, as shown below

· Click “Options” on the file menu

· Click the menu line “Properties”, and you should see a dialogue like that below

· Click the “Viewing” tab

· Click and thereby tick the option to “Use Resample function…”

· Click the “OK” button

When using Irfanview, you may wish to display thumbnail images of all the scanned items for a given client. To do so…

· Click “File” on the menu line

· Click “Thumbnails”

· Use “Stop” on the menu line at any time if Irfanview starts to display too many images

· Use the folder tree to the left of the thumbnails to navigate to a different client’s folder

· Double-click any thumbnail to see the full sized image appear in a second window on the left of the screen
