Printing
Address Labels
You might
like to print …
- a label for everyone in a given
address set
- a label for a selection
of people (e.g. those clients with a Norwich Union policy)
- 100
labels all addressed to one person (e.g. your network’s head office)
Create a Word Template
The first step is to create a document template in Word that
matches your label paper (e.g. A4 paper with 3 columns of labels). A number of
pre-made label templates are available as free downloads from Durell’s FTP
Server. To get one of them, starting from your Windows Desktop….
- Close
any programs that you’ve got running
- Click
the “Start” button, then select “All programs / Accessories / Windows
Explorer”
- Navigate
to your Durell template folder (i.e. the sub-folder called “TEMPLATE” in
the main Durell data folder called “IMW-DATA”
- Leave
this sub-folder open
Back on your Windows Desktop…
- Click
the “Start” button, then select “All programs / Internet Explorer”
- In
the “Address” line enter “ftp://82.219.210.162/” and click “Go”, as shown
below

On the “Log in as” pop-up, shown below…
- Enter
the word “download” as both the username and the password
- Click
“Log On”

- You
should now be able to find, and double-click, a folder called “Durell
Solutions, Label templates”, as shown below
- Right-click
on a label template that you wish to use and select “Copy”

- Right-click
anywhere on the BACKGROUND of the \Imw-Data\Template sub-folder and click
“Paste”
- Close
all open windows and start Durell – you should find the new template in your
Document Viewer

Inserting A Durell Data Field
Print an Address Label for Every Client
To print an address label for every client simple start your
Document Viewer, then…
- Click
“New Doc”
- Use
the “Template” dropdown to select the label template, as shown below
- Use
the “Select records” dropdown to select “Current set, all records”
- Ensure
the “Data field set” dropdown is set to “Standard” (or any other data set
that contains the address line fields)
- Leave
the tick in the box called “Tick for normal document”
- Click
“OK”

Print an Address Label for Selected Clients
This is identical to the procedure above, except you set the
“Select records” dropdown to “Current set, mailshot = Y”. The records that get
printed will be those set by your most recent mailshot selection, as described
in…

Printing a Large Number of
Labels for the Same Address
In order to print a large number
of address labels to the same person you simply edit one of your existing label
templates and remove all the <<Next Record>> instructions, shown
below. Make sure you re-save it with a different template name (e.g. “Label 2x7
8163 for single address”).

Then reselect it from your Document Viewer with “Select
records” set to “Current Record”.
