Policies, Description Line

The description line allows you to enter text against a policy record, which is then displayed at the bottom left of the scrolling view of all policies (“No 5 Via Poggio”, as shown below). This allows you to distinguish between a number of similar quotes or policies (e.g. mortgages for different properties, or quotes for the same vehicle but with a range of driver restrictions).

To enter or edit the description line, starting from Durell’s Main Menu…

· Click the “Policies” button

· Highlight the policy or quote in question (e.g. by scrolling to it, or using the “Binoculars” button to find it)

· Either right-click it

or

· Click the “Signpost” button, followed by “Edit description for list”

· Enter or edit the text in the “Edit Policy Description” dialogue, as shown below

· Click “OK”

If you need to clear a description line, simply re-enter the description as a single [space].
