Mail Shot, New
Producing a mailshot is similar to writing a
normal letter except for the “Select records” drop-down. Starting from Durell’s
Main Menu…
- Click the “People” button
- Use the search buttons, as required, to select the recipient client
- Click the green “W” button
- Click the “New Doc” button to activate the “Link to Microsoft Word”
(see Set-up, File Paths)
- Use the Template “Select” button to select the template (e.g. the
one called “Letter”)

- Check the “Select records” drop-down is set to “Current set, mailshot=Y”
- Check the “Data field set” drop-down is set to “Standard” (change
to this, if required)
- Check the “Tick for normal document” tick-box contains a tick (or
tick it, if required)
- Check the “Include client policy details” tick-box is clear (or
tick it, if required)
- Click the “OK” button to launch the new document

The “Select record” options allow the following
mailshots to be produced…
- Current set, all records
- Current set, mailshot=Y
- All sets, mailshot= Y
- Policies, all records
- Policies, mailshot=Y
- Renewals, all records
- Renewals, mailshot=Y
