Investments, Starting New
Policies, Contracts and Accounts
Starting
from Durell’s Main Menu (see also “Policies, Create A New Policy”)…
- Click the “People” Button
- Use the search keys to find the
required client
- Click the “Policies” button on
the toolbar
- If you see a list of policies
click the “Starburst” or “New” button, then click “OK” to start a new
policy
- Use the four drop-downs on the
right to select the product details, as shown below, then click “OK”

- On the following “flat view” of
the policy (see illustration below), enter…
- The policy or contract
reference in the “Policy reference” field
- Select the business stage from
the “Stage” drop-down (e.g. “Active”)
- Click the “=” button to the
right of “Awaiting” and complete the compliance checks (see Life, Compliance)
- Enter the policy start date
and use the “…until” drop-down accordingly (e.g. until “Sold”)
- Enter the initial premium and
use the “…per” drop-down accordingly (e.g. “Single”)
- Set the “Investment” drop-down
to anything other than “None” (e.g. set it to “With Profits” or “Unit
Linked”, etc)

- Click the black “Curve-right
Arrow” key or press the “PgDn” key to move onto the “Transactions” screen
- Read the section “Investments, Level of Detail”
to decide how much information you need to enter on the “Transactions”
screen (and refer to the appropriate help section)
- Click the black “Curve-right
Arrow” key or press the “PgDn” key again to move onto the “Commission”
screen
