Quotes, Prospective
Clients
You may enter prospective clients in either…
- your
“Prospective Clients” address set, then if they do take-up their quote move
them to the “Individual Clients” set
…or…
- your
“Individual Clients” address set, then if they do not take-up their quote
you will need to either delete them, or move them to the
“Prospective Clients” set
In either case the procedure is similar. In the example
below the customer is first entered as a “Prospective Client” then
moved to “Individual Clients”.
Enter the Prospect
Starting from the Durell “Main Menu”…
- Click
the “Prospects” button
- This
should take you to “Prospective Clients”. If not, refer to the
“Set-up the People & Business Buttons” section in “Clients, Using Address Sets”
- Click
the “Starburst” or “New” button
- In
the “Create New Address Record” pop-up select the
prospect’s details, using the dropdowns for Title, Sex and Marital
status
- Enter
the client’s name, home phone number and date of birth
- Use
the “=” buttons to generate the postal and search names (e.g.
“Mr R White” and “WHITE RJ”)
- Click
“OK”

- Back
on the main screen, enter the postcode and click the “=”
button to the right of it
- Double-click
the address to use, as shown below (or click on it to highlight, then
click “Enter”)

- If
relevant, select the adviser in your brokerage (i.e. the account handler)
- Click
the red “Floppy Disk” or “Save” button

Start the Quote
- Click
the “Policy” button on the toolbar
- Ensure
“Start a new quote” is selected and click “OK”

- On
the “New Quote” screen, below, ensure the “Type”
and “Product” dropdowns are correctly set, then click
“OK”

see how to process the quote (e.g. “Take-up”, check for
“Add-ons”, etc) see “Quotes, Insurecom,
Processing”

Move Prospect into Client Address Set
At any time convenient to yourself after you have
“taken-up” the quote (i.e. and therefore your prospect is now
really a client) you should move the prospect record into the “Individual
Clients” address set. To do so, starting from Durell’s “Main
Menu”…
- Click
the “Prospects” button
- Use
the “Green Binocular” button to re-find the prospect in
question (see “Clients,
Finding Records”)
- Click
the word “Record” on the File Menu line
- Click
the option to “Move record/s”
- Change
the “Target address set” dropdown to “Clients,
Individual”, as shown below
- Ensure
the “Move records” selection is set to “Current
record”
- Click
“OK”
- Click
“Cancel” when done
