The following instructions will show you how to create the document template, shown below and at the start of this topic, to list the current client’s policies, showing Insurer, Product type, Policy Ref, Start date and End date.

 

 

Starting from Durell’s Main Menu….

 

 

Then on the “Link to Microsoft Word” pop-up, as shown above…

 

The first time you do this, before clicking “OK” you’ll also need to setup the “Policy field set”, which will otherwise be empty. The process is identical to setting up the main “Data field set”, as described in Documents, Data Sets.  In this instance you should…

 

 

Then continuing with the “Link to Microsoft Word” pop-up…

 

In Word, if you’ve started from the standard “Letter” template in Durell you can simply delete the date and salutation, enter “POLICY LIST” and “for” at the top, then centralise everything by highlighting it all and then clicking the “Centre” button. Now to add the policy list you are advised to use a Word table…

 

  

Now that you have the table displayed, click on each cell in turn and enter the appropriate data field (as described in Templates, Inserting A Durell Data Field). In this instance the data field “Pol01_InsurerName” goes in the top left cell, with “Pol01_SubTypeName” in the cell to its right, and so on, as illustrated at the beginning of this topic.

 

 

When you’ve entered all of the data fields you can choose to make the table invisible when printed. To do this…

 

 

Now check your template with the “<ABC>” button and when everything looks ok save it as a Document Template (as described in “Templates, New”).
