Appendix 4 - Using An Internet Time Client To Schedule Routers

 

If you’re using a router, such as the Draytek 2600X, that can be scheduled to be on from a given time of day (e.g. 8 am) then off again from a given time (e.g. 8 pm) it will be essential to have the router’s clock set correctly. Moreover in the event of a power cut it will also be essential for the router to reset itself with the correct time. To do this you need to specify the IP address of a clock available on the Internet. The one at BlueYonder.Co.Uk has the IP address 194.117.157.4, which can be set on the Draytek 2600X router as shown below.
