Appendix 3 – Misys IFA Factfinds

SUMMARY

All you need is to download the “Misys.exe” file from Durell’s FTP site into the “Template” folder of your Durell system, then use these templates for your fact finds instead of Durell’s own fact find system, all as described in detail below…

INSTALLATION

To get to Durell’s FTP site, first start your Internet Explorer and go on the Internet as normal, then type in the following address…

ftp://212.69.251.14/

This should log you onto Durell’s FTP site automatically, but if you get asked for a username just answer with…   user   …and the password, which is also…    user

You will then see a file on the site called “Misys.exe”, which you should double-click to download. On the following “File Download” window (below) just click “Save”

On the ensuing “Save As” window (below) use the “Save in” drop-down at the top left to select “Desktop” then click the “Save” button.

The file will take no more than three minutes to download, after which you should close your Internet connection.

You should then see a brown Durell icon on your Desktop called “misys.exe”. Double-click this and you’ll see the “Winzip Self-Extractor – misys.exe” window (below).

Edit the “Unzip to folder” line so that it points to your template folder. This is almost bound to be “[drive letter]:\Imw-Data\Template” (as shown above) where [drive letter] is your Durell data drive, which in most cases will be F (e.g. F:\Imw-Data\Template).

When ready, click the “Unzip” button to extract the Misys templates.

USING THE FACTFINDS, GENERALLY

The Misys fact finds can then be used from your Durell system like normal templates (below). If you aren’t already familiar with using templates then refer to Durell’s on-line Help system, which you can access via the “?” button on the top right of most of your Durell screens.

The first time you use each new template in Durell, whether for Misys or otherwise, you must also link it to a data field set, which in almost all cases will be called “Standard” (below).

Renaming & Deleting Old Fact Finds

You can rename these fact finds in any way that might make them easier to use (see Durell on-line Help system if you don’t know how to do this). For compatibility reasons, Durell has retained all of the original Misys names with only two exceptions. Firstly we have added a “1” at the front of each template so that they appear in a group at the top of your list (i.e. which is listed alphabetically). Secondly, we have replaced any dots used in the original names with dashes, so that they work properly with Word (e.g. “Core FF v3 26.02.03 pdf” becomes “1Core FF v3 26-02-03 pdf”). Moreover we have retained both the original “Core FactFindv1.1Sept02” and the newer version, called “Core FF v3 26.02.03 PDF”. We suggest that you should delete older versions of templates (n.b. which will never affect any actual fact find documents), but do not consider it right for Durell to take this action on your behalf. Again, for help regarding template deletion, refer to the on-line Help system, accessible from the “?” button on Durell’s toolbar.

For example, you might like to keep your Misys fact finds at the top of each client’s list. To make a document prioritised….

Updating Factfinds

A couple of years after creating a new fact find you may need to update it. We recommend that to do so without losing the original information you should…

·        Edit the original document, accessible from Durell’s Document Viewer

·        When in Word, highlight the entire original factfind, “Copy” then “Paste” it at the end

·        Then at the start of both the original and the copy, enter “Details as at dd/mm/yyyy”

·        Finally update the copied version, save then print just the required pages.
