18 - Web Content Control
The Draytek Vigor router can be setup to prevent users going to certain
categories of websites. To do this…
- Go to the IP address of your router using your copy of Internet
Explorer (e.g. go to 192.168.16.1) , as shown below
- Enter the user-name “admin” with your password
- Click “Firewall” then “Web Content Filter” on the left of the Vigor screen
- Set the “Select a CPA server” to “europe1.surfcpa.com”
- Tick “Enable Web Content Filter”
- Tick the sites to block
- Always tick “Block all uncategorised sites”, as these include
some of the most dangerous
- Click “OK”

Uncategorised Sites
Unfortunately some perfectly valid sites won’t
have been categorised, and thus will be blocked. To categorise a valid site…
- Go to the IP address of your router using your copy of Internet
Explorer (e.g. go to 192.168.16.1)
- Enter the user-name “admin” with your password
- Click “Firewall” then “Web Content Filter” on the left of the Vigor screen, which will return you to your Web
Content settings, as shown above
- Click “Test a site to verify whether it is categorised”
- Enter the web address of the site to test and click “Test Site”,
as shown below

If the Test Result shows that the site is
not on SurfControl’s list click “Submit A Site”
- Ensure “Add a site” is selected, as shown below
- Select a suitable category for the site
- Click “Submit”

Wait for at least three working days for
the request to be actioned.
